(It seems I got Kinja'd so I'll try again.)
There has been a lot of talk about how BMW's // M division is loosing its touch and the cars it's turning out are, well, soft. I propose an alternative that embodies the original 3.0 CSL's, M1's, and M3's mojo. I'm going to make my own // M division which will not only offer stripped out, fire extinguisher equipped, power monsters, but track cars first and foremost, that just happen to be street legal. Also you wouldn't need fake engine noise to know know you are pushing.
(Disclaimer: Not really though, I am 20 years old and, by extension, my financial liquidity is next to nonexistent.)
Who wants to join me? Post ideas and inspiration below.

That too. I want something to compete with the H2R, road legal of course.

Mi8 CSL
Mi8 GTR (like the e46 M3GTR) with some P1 GTR inspired rear aero treatment
f82 M3 (none of that M4 sacrilege) CSL
Z4M coupe
Too many M's

You could totally do your own //M division, since it's technically / //M ;)

You might as well just call it the ///M8. Aim it at the Australian market.

Modern e30 M3: 2.7 I4 16v DOHC making 330 horsepower @8500 or so. Aluminum body panels, steel chassis, no power steering, stripped down.
Modern e21 M5: 3.8 I6 24v DOHC making 375 hp @7000 or so. Aluminum panels, aluminum chassis, hydraulic power steering, fairly simple.
Modern e24 M6: Coupe version of direct above, more features, maybe a few carbon-fibre body panels.
Modern e26 M1: 4.2 I6 24v DOHC making 450 hp @7800 or so. Carbon-fibre on carbon-fibre, mild hydraulic power steering, nice but simple and lightweight.

The M8 was planned as more of a GT car. An Mi8 CSL would be more of a clapped out supercar. It'd be more of a spiritual successor to the M1 in my opinion.

I was referencing the m8/mate meme.
